About the B.Ed. Programme:

The Bachelor of Education program, generally known as B.Ed., is a professional course that prepares teachers for upper primary or middle level (classes VI-VIII), secondary level (classes IX-X) and senior secondary level (classes XI-XII).

Programme Learning Outcomes (PLO’s):

1. To strengthen the pedagogical skills among student teachers.
2. To imbibe the knowledge and understanding of various methods and approaches of teaching learning process among student teachers.
3. To provide first-hand experience of all the school activities through internship activities secondary/senior secondary schools.
4. To foster among the student teachers the abilities to engage and manage the scholastic and co-scholastic individual issues of learners.
5. To strengthen the professionalism and competency among student teachers.
6. To sensitize student teachers about emerging issues such as environment, population, gender equality, sustainable development goals.
7. To become competent and committed professionals willing to perform the identified tasks.
8. To develop an attitude of focusing on the learning of the students.
9. To develop leadership and entrepreneurship skills among student teachers.
10. To nurture psychological attitude towards students.
11. To develop effective communication skills among the student teachers.
12. To nurture thinking skills among students.
13. To foster research skills among student teachers.

15. To acquaint student teachers regarding the role of teacher in National Development and welfare of the society.
Sem I : Course Learning Outcomes (CLO’s)

Childhood and Growing Up:

1. To develop an understanding of the Principles of development.
2. To develop an understanding of the concept of development within a pluralistic society.
3. To develop an understanding of the role of school in growth and development of a child.
4. To examine the theoretical perspectives of child development.

Knowledge and Curriculum:

1. To develop an understanding of the perspectives of knowledge and education.
2. To develop an understanding of basis of modern child centered education.
3. To develop an understanding of the social and cultural context of education.
4. To acquaint with curriculum, curriculum development and evaluation.

Gender School and Society:

1. To create an awareness of the concept and perspectives of gender.
2. To develop an understanding of social construction of gender identity.
3. To be acquainted with gender challenges and education .
4. To be aware of strategies for gender empowerment. .

Critical Understanding of ICT:

1. To develop an understanding of ICT in education.
2. To develop learning resources using ICT.
3. To develop an understanding of MOOC and LMS.
4. To use ICT in evaluation and research.

Learning and Teaching:

Guidance and Counselling:

1. To develop an understanding of the basic concepts of guidance.
2. To develop an understanding of the strategies for guidance .
3. To develop an understanding of the basic concepts of counselling.
4. To be aware of the role of counsellor in contemporary society.

Environmental Education:

1. To develop an understanding of the basic concepts of environment, ecosystem and ecology.
2. To develop an understanding of the major environmental issues .
3. To acquaint about sustainable environmental management.
4. To be aware of the environmental initiatives, laws and projects.

Creating an Inclusive School:

1. To develop an understanding of nurturing towards inclusion .
2. To develop an understanding of the policies promoting inclusion .
3. To be acquainted with addressing learners diversity .
4. To develop an understanding of Inclusion.

Internship – Course Learning Outcomes (CLO’s):

1. To get an opportunity to observe the teaching of experienced school teachers.
2. To develop lesson plans under the guidance of the School teacher and Teacher educator
3. To observe and conduct co-curricular and extracurricular activities in the school.
4. To assist the school teacher in her/his day to day work.
5. To conduct lessons in the Internship school
6. To write a reflective journal on the activities undertaken in the school.
7. To conduct an action research project in the school
8. To administer Unit Test in the school.
9. To participate in community outreach activities for a period of 30 hours
10. To participate in Extension activities as a part of the DLLE.

Overall Course Learning Outcomes:

1. To participate in college co-curricular activities such as presentation in assembly, sports day, indoor games, annual day, intra-collegiate events, inter-collegiate events.
