Introduction

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell, commonly referred to as IQAC, plays a pivotal role in enhancing and maintaining the quality of higher education institutions. IQAC serves as the driving force behind this pursuit by overseeing and ensuring the implementation of quality measures and continuous improvement initiatives. By promoting academic and administrative best practices, IQAC aims to elevate the overall teaching-learning experience, research endeavors, and community engagement. Collaboration and communication are at the heart of IQAC’s operations. It encourages a participatory approach involving all stakeholders—faculty, students, administration, alumni, and industry partners—to collectively work towards the institution’s growth and success. In this era of accountability and transparency, IQAC serves as a cornerstone for quality assurance in higher education.

Vision

To ensure quality culture as the prime concern for the Higher Education Institutions through institutionalizing and internalizing all the initiatives taken with internal and external support.

Objective

The primary aim of IQAC is:

  • To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
  • To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.

Functions Some of the functions expected of the IQAC are:

  1. Development and application of quality benchmarks
  2. Parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution.
  3. Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process.
  4. Collection and analysis of feedback from all stakeholders on quality related institutional processes.
  5. Dissemination of information on various quality parameters to all stakeholders.
  6. Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles.
  7. Documentation of the various programmes / activities leading to quality improvement.
  8. Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices.
  9. Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining / enhancing the institutional quality.
  10. Periodical conduct of Academic and Administrative Audit and its follow-up
  11. Preparation and submission of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC.

The IQAC Policy shall seek to ensure the fulfillment of the following objectives:

  • To assure the quality of the academic environment for holistic growth of the students.
  • To implement relevant curricula and student centric learning processes.
  • To establish a systematic and transparent assessment and evaluation process.
  • To inculcate a culture of cutting edge research and innovation in all disciplines.
  • To engage students and faculty in community development.
  • To augment an infrastructure to meet the needs of the future.
  • To integrate technology and ensure effective governance.
  • To foster healthy green practices in all institutional practices.
  • To conduct Academic and Administrative Audit and its follow-up
  • To Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality.
  • To Organize workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles;
  • To Document various programmes / activities leading to quality improvement.

The IQAC shall survey as the central hub of quality at the institution

  • Internalization of quality culture. The Cell shall plan and implement a Quality Assurance System in all academic and administrative processes of internalization of quality culture.
  • Development of benchmarks for the various academic and administrative activities of the college.
  • Creation of a learner-centric environment conducive for quality education and updating of curriculum.
  • Quality assurance through documentation and academic audit.
  • Develop best practices and institutionalization of best practices.
  • Quality improvement through interactive forums.
  • Prepare mandatory quality reports.
  • Lead the institution for assessment, accreditation and awards.
  • Organize workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles.
  • Document various programmes / activities leading to quality improvement.
